Fineline tattoos are meant to heal soft, grey, and “worn’. Less ink is deposited into the skin than traditional tattoos, and it’s normal for some areas in the tattoo to lighten up because of this.

Placement can also be a huge factor in needing a touch up. Hands, ankles, behind the ear, and fingers tend to fade more due to a few reasons:

• the area is drier

• frequent hand washing

• skin type in some areas

All of this happens during the healing process which happens from the moment you get that tattoo up to 6 weeks. So you will know if you need a touch up within that time.

Usually during a touch up, just any spots where the tattoo healed lighter is what will be touched up.
